" BLACK IS BLACK " - Blog War Challenge Project 1

Hi All,

I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

This weeks Blog War Challenge is using Black Card or Paper in our projects ... So I've titled it "Black is Black Challenge" only because I have had that song (By Los Bravos) going around in my head since I heard what the challenge was going to be. (I know..I'm showing my age now ...lol)

When I was thinking what colours went well with " Black " my first thoughts were gold and red ..which is a great combination for an Oriental theme.

So I have used Gold Embossing on the fan and Berry Red Card. Altho you can't see it that clearly in the larger picture I have actually used the Bamboo Stamp and Gold embossed. I used the Blossom (772LJ) stamp on the Red Bazzill. The Good Times (951LF) Sentiment says " Wishing you good health, good friends and good times".
Fan was tied with Cream and gold ribbon

I actually havent finished the card, as I don't have the stamp I want to use on the Base card..But I will have it in my next order. So I will add the finished card in a c ouple of weeks , make sure you check back here again soon.

**** Make sure you check back here tomorrow ..when I will have some very exciting news to share with you..

A close up of the fan, showing the gold embossing

Don't forget to check out what the other Blog War participants are up to..the list is on the right hand side menu.

Cheers

My head feels like its about to explode, and I still have to get thru the night.

Its been a very loooong day ..

I will post all the details to the card sometime tomorrow (after Ive had some sleep) and hopefully a little more refreshed.

Enjoy todays creation.

BOY CARDS - Blog War - Project 1

Hi All,

I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

The Blog War Challenge this week is ...... Boy Cards.

I created this card with a very special little boy in mind, who I know will love this little punch art tractor. I have bought him a Toy tractor (John Deere replica) as a gift to go with the card , so the green and yellow in the card was used to represent a John Deere Tractor (example shown below).

I have used the Scallop Circle - Super (4862), Super Circle (4857) & (4856), Scallop Circle mini Punch (4871) for the smoke.

The base card is actually Holly Green but it look black in the photo, I also used Raven Bazzill (4224), Sunbeam Bazzill (4227), Parakeet Bazzill (4222). THe wheels and the mud guard have been Magic Mounted to add dimension. The soil was sponged using Walnut Stain, and a Black Permaball Pen (660024) was used to add the detail to the tractor. I also used 2 Silver brads for the wheel nuts.

I'm going to stamp a number (age) from the Carnival Alphabet Stamp Set (4200KO) in the top right hand corner....

Thanks for dropping by

The Stamper

Here's a little poem I was sent some time ago, and just re-found it again.

It has been around for a while, some of you may have seen it before but its a good read and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

THE STAMPER

I started out with just one stamp
and when I bought some more
I decided that a shoe box
Would make an ideal store.

Then as I added inks and pens,
My stamp collection grew
So I bought a roomy plastic crate
It would last for years, I knew.

Embossing then became my thing
With powders and a heat gun,
Metallics, tinsels, pearls and clear,
I soon had every one.

By now my lovely plastic crate

Was spilling everywhere
And my glitter glue collection
Lay scattered on a chair.

My husband started muttering
And said things had to stop,
So I bought a huge old wardrobe
At the local charity shop.

But after a while,

I couldn't shut the door
And I put shelves in the spare room
To accomodate yet more.

Our house is now for sale,
Something larger being sought,
By the way, did I show you
The latest stamp I bought......

hehehe.............This sounds oooooh so familar,
I'm a self confessed "Stamp-a-holic"

By the Sea - Card Share

Hi All,

I'm feeling a little more human today, dispite it being the coldest day this year in Qld.

So I thought I would make a nice warm summer card to warm us all up.

I have used Orange (9490) base card, Kaszazz's newly released Palm Tree (4202KL) stamp stamped on white card then cut out and mounted, "by the Sea "(1674LE) sentiment was stamped in Walnut Stain onto SB Paper Stripes/Sand (4773)

hmmmmm... this cards makes me want to go on an island holiday .

Happy Stampin'

" ONCE WAS WHITE " - POW Project 3

Hiya

Welcome to my todays project.

I stamped the Damask image from in Purple Vivid INk (09017) ..I first created a mask with a scrap piece of paper and stamped the image down one side.

The " Life " sentiment is stamped in Coal Black ink on a separate piece of white card and was edged with the Purple Vivid Ink... I have used Magic mount to attach sentiment to base card.

The organdy was originally white, but I changed the colour using the Purple ink.

Happy Stampin'

" ONCE WAS WHITE " - POW Project 1

Hi Stampers,

I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

Welcome to today's Blog War Challenge - this weeeks theme is more a technique of the week rather than a product. We are doing "Once was White" - its where we take a White piece of Card (or Bazzil) and change it by adding colour. - Sounds simple....doesn't it.

Here is a very very simple card, but I think very effective, its a reproduction of a card I submitted to Kaszazz recently for a "Make & Take Demo". - I just love the shabby chic effect the paint dabbers give.

I have used an Adirondack Paint Dabber - Pool (ABD22466) to colour the background and then stamped the Butterfly and flower image ( 1942LM) and "Life " (4131KI) verse in Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

You could try all different combinations by changing the colour of the Paint Dabber and the colour of the base card - it looks fab on Oatmeal Card Stock...Give it a try......See what different combinations you come up with..

Sorry about the bad photo..the lighting wasnt very good I will try and get a better picture tomorrow, but atleast you get the idea. Keep smilin'
