Christmas Cards Completed

Hi All,
Have you noticed my new header and my background !!! ???? !!!!
I thought my blog was in desperate need of some changes as I was getting bored with the old layout ..I love the boppin Santa ...I think its cute..
Not only have I been decorating my blog into the christmas spirit, but Ive also been putting up Christmas lights and decorations around the house and garden ...So its " begining to feel a lot like Christmas"
I have been busy the last couple of days making my christmas cards (in between nursing sick DH)... I'm glad I don't make cards for everyone, I would have to start making now for next years christmas...lol...

I made over 20 of these little gems..... all different

I used my new Cuttlebug Lace Tree embossing folder (not sold by Kaszazz)....

The last couple of years I have decided to give every one simular theme cards but change the design on each one slightly so they look different, eg changing the card, ink or ribbon colour. changing the embellishments etc. So atleast this way it makes it easier to remember what card was given to whom the previous year, so I don't give the same card 2 years in a row..

I've used a variety of Kaszazz cardstock, variety of inks Distress Ink,Fluid Chalk Ink, some had embossing Powder, Ink Blending tool was used , coloured Rhinestones, Glossy Accents, I have used Icestickles on each card (its hard to see on some of the cards) Kaszazz Mini Messages Stamp Set, and I stamped "May your Christmas sparkle like the tinsel on your tree" on the inside of each card, which is very appropriate as their cards do sparkle with the glitter , rhinestones..even the ribbon has a gold and silver metallic edge trim.

Here is a close up of some of the end results (my favourites...)

I have to make a card for my parents each occassion as they get very disappointed if I buy one..They love receiving my cards. this one is there's ..I added some light decoration that are on a silver thread, I bought a year ago (I knew I would use it one day) from Big W gift wrapping christmas section..I wish I had bought more of this, I still have some left but you can never have too much craft stuff. altho DH might have something to say about that...lol.

This one isnt your traditional christmas colours, but love the way it turned out... I used Colorbox Metalic Gold Ink and pink rhinestones.

I have used Ice Blue Fluid Chalk ink on this one... I love the blue and the Icestickles on this one .
With or without ink they still look effective with the raised embossed pattern which you cant see on the others in the cards.

And lastly another one of my favourites....

I used Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink on this one, it matches in well with the red rhinestones.

Did you notice that the paper pricking on most of the cards were different also. I do like the effect of the paper pricking but can be time consuming when making a lot of cards at once like I did here.

So which ones you'r favourite???

Happy Scrappin'

AQUACOLOR CRAYONS - Blog War Challenge - Project

Hi All,

I hope you had a great weekend.

Here is my project using the Lyra Aquacolor Crayons.

Not only are the crayons great for vivid colouring of stamped images but they can also be used to create backgrounds like I have in this card on the White Gloss Card.

I stamped butterfly image on the front of the vellum in Coal black, the crayons were used on the back of the stamped image, this way it doesnt matter if u slighty go over the line while colouring, and the colours are bright enough to still be seen from the front.

I used the lavender stamp to create the grass and flowers, using a piece of scrap paper as a mask, the edge of the vellum was edged in Coal black ink also, and adhered to base card using vellum tape...

Have a Scrap-a-licious day,

Jo

PAINT SPLAT BACKGROUND - Card Share

Hi all,

Here is a card I created using the Paint Dabber Splash Technique which is featured in this months "Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft" Magazine (Vol. 15 No. 7) on Pages 74 - 77.

The technique and cards were submitted by one of our own very creative Kaszazz consultants - Michelle Smith.

When I first saw the cards , the first thought that sprang to mind was kids cards, fun, birthdays....

This techniques creates a very vivid, colourful and striking background with a unique textured effect and is very simple to acheive.

Here is my first attempt at using this technique......

I have used Pool Paint Dabber (ABD22466), Raspberry Paint Dabber (ABD22480), Blue card - Primary Pack (9782), White card (9014), Happy Birthday Script Stamp (4088KF), Cupcake Stamp (4136KF), Cupcake-Stripe SB Paper (4831), Coal Black Ink (72010), Aquacolor Crayons and added some Icestickles to the icing on the cupcake image.
If you would like any more information on any of my projects, workshops, and /or Kaszazz Products, please don't hesitate to email me here, only to happy to help with any enquiries.

BLOG WAR CHALLENGE - Petunia Babe

Hi all,

Here is a cute little card which I actually created for last weeks Blog War Challenge and have only just had the time to post it now. Last week BW Challenge was to ccreate a card or LO featuring a pet or animals....

I have named her "Petunia Babe"..... as she is made with Petunia Bazzill and "Babe" named after her inspiration "Babe" from the movie.

So here she is ..

I'snt she gorgeous..(and I think she knows it...lol.....).

Making this card brought back some childhood memories of when I made a paper mache` pig in primary school, painted it pink and added some daisies very simular to these ones. I have also decorated the back of the card but havent added the picture yet.

A QUICK UPDATE - MIA

Hi All,

I can't believe its been 3 weeks since I have posted....how time has flown by - wish I could say I was having fun.

Appologies for my absence, but its been a real battle and difficult time (physically and emotionally) for me the past few weeks.

My dad has been un-well for over 7 months, 2 weeks ago he was hospitalized for 5 days on intravieness antibiotics 7 times a day... three days after he got home ( he should never have been sent home, but that is a long story), friday he was told by his specialist he had to go to the city hospital a.s.a.p. (5 hours away) to have partial amputation of his foot as he developed gangrene in the bone...(which wouldnt have appeared in the 3 days he was out of hospital..grrrr country hospitals) so that operation happened on sunday morning.... he still isnt out of the woods yet he has to heal without infection and fingers crossed they got all the affected bone.

Today there has been talk that he may have another operation as an Angiogram he had yesterday, revealed he has a couple of blockages... So we are not sure how much longer he will be in hospital for.... it could be a couple more weeks yet.

So on top of all this I havent been feeling 100% myself, I'm emotionally drained and I have lost my mojo at present, but it will come back.

Ending on a good note I recently got notification from Kaszazz that I have had some workshops I submitted accepted.

Cheers Jo

I'm Baaaack .....

Hi All,

I'm back...from holidays in South Australia...I had a wonderful time, but am glad to be back home again...where it is warmer and a little less hectic than the past week or so...

This is the first holiday we have had for a long while.

I did manage to surprise everyone.. the Wednesday was very emotional time for my dad.

Time just flew by so quick.....

Majority of our time was filled with constant stream of visits to family and friends...Poor DH was dragged everywhere..I think he got sick of hearing the stories over and over again.

I did manage to have a small amount of craft time when I caught up with Pam from my up line and some friends.

I now literally have hundreds of emails to catchup on..this will keep me occupied for the next few days..

So I will be back into the Blog Wars again next week.

Have a geat weekend ...

Cheers Joanne

Card Share - and secret revealed

Hi All,

I hope your having a great day ..I am.

I can finally reveal a secret that I have been hiding for the past couple of days...I am in South Australia...surprising my parents and friends for a visit..It is also my Dad's 70th Birthday today Wednesday 30th Sept. That is also why I had to do the hurry bulk lot of Cuttlebug stuff over the past week or so.

Altho this post says I posted it yesterday..I actually drafted it before I went away.

Here is the card I made for him .. I have used SB Paper Argyl - Stripes (4593) Admiral Bazzill (4213) Oatmeal Card, Mini Messages (006KK) , Roman Clock (003KD), Fluer STamp (4190KC), Cute Letter Alphabet (1773LN), Label Numbers (2003LH), Mini Fasteners Antique (4421), Pewter Spiral Clip (4388) Brown Aqua Stitch Ribbon (70907).

The first picture is the front of the card....

The ute stamp is from Stamp It is no longer sold by Kaszazz... I used this image a couple of years ago on a card I made for dad , he loved it, unaware to me that this image meant a lot to him ..it actually reminded him of a car he use to own when he was younger..so that is why I have used this stamp again...Mum actually reminded me the other day how much he loved that card ..So I'm sure he will love this one...

This is the card open....onthe middle section where I will write I stamped the Roman Clock (003KD) image as we are giving him a Watch which is engraved

I will be back at the end of next week after I get back from holidays...

Til then Happy Scrappin' ... Joanne

** PLEASE NOTE *** ..I actually wrote this earlier in the week..(Tuesday before I went away on holidays ) I have only just had a chance to get internet access and to be able to show it on my blog.

I''ve Caught the Bug......

Hi all,

Remember when I mentioned in yesterdays post I had been busy the past week or so...

Well this is some of what I have been doing....

I've caught the Bug.....

No.... not the virus or bad type of bug.

Iv'e been playing with my Cuttlebug ..and been busy cutting out die shapes..I cut about 200 all up...I cut them to give to my Mum. I got her hooked into cardmaking and papercraft too, but she doesnt have a Cuttlebug..

Here is just a few shapes / characters I created.... (not all card stack used is from Kaszazz) some have multiples in different colours. Most of these characters are more than 3 shapes combined to form the finished product.

Here are some Wedding / love themed die cuts...I love the handcuffs I used some silver metalic cardstock on some of these..I did the horse shoe in some silver metalic also.

Here are some Christmas ones ..

I love the reindeers I actually inked around the edges to give them a 3d look.. I used some Kaszazz Bazzil Bling - "Glitz (4671) on the Bauble Tag and then also embossed it Snowflakes using the cuttlebug Machine. I also did the Bauble Die Cuts in a Green Metalic and Red metalic..they look gorgeous.

Below is my Spring Theme Set ...

I just love how the shimmer paper I used on the butterflies turned out..its a Pearlised shimmer paper..I'm not sure where I got it from, I collected it along my travels somewhere.

I just love my cute animals below.. Including Winnie the Pooh...he is a cut and emboss.. The horse and the Rabbit Peekers are very time consumming to make. The horse consits of 8 different pieces and then I highlighted bits with my White Gel pen.

The bunnies consist of 9 pieces and I inked the edge of ever piece before sticking them together, then added detail with my Black pen.

Last but not least is my Seaside collection with a couple of others ..

the dolphins and the boots were also done in the Glitz Bazzill Bling , the bee I used some Bright Lights Bazzill Bling (4668).I loved how they turned out.

I still have other Dies I haven't used..but I ran out of time..I will do some another time..

I love my Bug.........

Cheers Joanne

Hi All,

Wow how eerie the sky was today here in parts of Qld and parts of NSW...The sky glowed a orange / red colour.. A huge dust storm is from Outback South Australia is what caused it, due to the strong winds .... You can still smell the dust now, not so good for sinus.

These pictures have not been photoshoped.. The first picture is here in Brisbane

Here is a today and a normal shot of the sky in Sydney

On to todays card .....Here is another card sample showing how to put your left over scraps to good use..

I have used some Dots - Squares (4629) SB Paper from our Blossom Range to make the pin wheels, also used Stripes (4631) SB Paper from the Blossom Range, Marmalade Bazzill (4456), Parakeet Bazzill (4222), 8 x 8 White card (4040) for the base and a brad in each pinwheel to hold down the points.

ATC's Fathers Day / Male - Blog War Challenge - Project 1

Hi All,

Welcome to today's Blog War Challenge.

This week we are making ATC's ( Artist Trading Cards). We are using a Father's Day / Male theme.

ATC's are miniature works of art created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch card stock, they are originals, most importantly, self-produced - anybody can produce them.

The idea is that you trade them with other people who produce cards, either at TRADING SESSIONS or wherever you meet another ATC trader. They can also be attached to base cards to create a full sized card or scrapbooking project. They are a great item to make to use up scraps of cardstock and paper.

Kaszazz have a gorgeous ATC Stamp set which has a total of 91 different variety of words, backing templates and name plates, it can be found on page 171 of the current Kaszazz Catalogue.

I have used Bahama Bazzill, Parakeet Bazzill, Skate SB Paper from "All Boy" Range (4801), Lines Stamp (1933LH), Happy Fathers Day Stamp (394LD), Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Ink (TIM1490), Ancient Page (72010) Coal Black Ink All products used are available from Kaszazz.

FLUID CHALK INKS - Blog War Challenge - Project 2

Hi all,

Welcome to today's " Blog War " creation.

Well...they say looks can be deceiving... This card definitely fits that description...
This card may look like it was quick and easy...but it wasn't, there was a lot of pre-planning and measuring making sure the punched border and hearts were even...but after all the measurements were worked out it all came together quiet well.

I have used Blue Iris Chalk Ink (71034) also used were, Pomegranite Card from our new Earth Tone Essentials card range (4927), Vine Stamp from Treasured Memories Set (4129KO), Smile Stamp (4130KC), Starmist Bazzill (4226), Flourish Border Punch (4866), Mini Heart Punch (4870), Corner Rounder Punch and I aded some Aqua Organdy Ribbon (70605). All products used are available from Kaszazz.

When I remake this card I will make a couple of changes, as the Smile sentiment doesn't show clearly (shows up even less in the photo) so I will stamp it in a different colour, and I thought about maybe adding some colour to the vine image.

What do you think ???

FLUID CHALK INKS - Blog War Challenge - Project 1

Hi all...

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. The weather here was fabulous (around 30 degrees) we did some gardening and I managed a bit of time to do some papercraft stuff. Today's temp is mid 30's, so I think summer is on its way...yay !!!!!

I made a start on a couple of birthday cards , one is for DH ..So I can't show it yet .. as he checks my blog regularly. I also made a start start on making my project for the Kaszazz Team Training Day coming up on the 13th September, we are asked to create a project including the Antique Gold Embelishment Kit (page 57 current catalogue) more on this later in the weeks following.

This week Kaszazz product we are showcasing is ...." Fluid Chalk Ink ".

Kaszazz offer a huge range of beautiful soft colours which can be found on pages 77 - 79 of the current Kaszazz Catalogue.

These gorgeous inks blend like die inks and dry quick on most surfaces. The ink pads are available in various sizes cats eye, mini pad, regular size ink pad, Option pads and Queue cats eye stack.

The Options Pads are very economical as you receive 8 gorgeous colours in each palette. Each colour plate can be lifted from the palette for direct-to-paper application.

The Colorbox Fluid Chalk Queue are multi coloured (6 varieties) nested Cat's Eye inkpads.

Here is today's creation, using Dark Peony Fluid Chalk Ink (71032).

I have also used White 8 x 8 card (6066)for base, black card (9883) , Happy Birthday stamp (4085KF), Dragonfly and small daisy from the Springtime stamp Set (4112KO), Daisy small (4011KC), and Magenta Rick Rack Ribbon (6464)

Cheers

MALE CARDS - Blog War Challenge - Project 3

Hi all

Here is todays card...It's something a little different.

Yes..... the side of the card is cut on an angle...its not an optical illusion created by the camera...altho its not one of the best photo's.

I have used Bahama Bazzill (4215) for the base card, I have hand drawn the white stitching around the cut out area with a White Gel Pen (1916), Tool Border (1700LH) image was inked in Perfect Medium (2383), added some Black white stitch ribbon (70959), and a Silver Spiral Clip (4602) ... Fathers day (394LD) sentiment was stamped in Ancient Page Coal Black Ink (72010) on the inside if the card onto the white card (9014) insert.

Originally I didnt have the Tool image on the card, and some how a finger print mark got onto the front of the card after I had finished it (don't you hate that...!!!!!) , so I disquised it by stamping the tool border image over it...

Now you wouldn't even know it was there (smiles).... and I think it looks better with the tool image on there, so maybe it was fate...... Its easy to hide little ooopsies , by using a little imagination without the need to throw the card away and start all over again.

Have a .."Scrap-a-rific" weekend.....
