BOY CARDS - Blog War - Project 1

Hi All,

I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

The Blog War Challenge this week is ...... Boy Cards.

I created this card with a very special little boy in mind, who I know will love this little punch art tractor. I have bought him a Toy tractor (John Deere replica) as a gift to go with the card , so the green and yellow in the card was used to represent a John Deere Tractor (example shown below).

I have used the Scallop Circle - Super (4862), Super Circle (4857) & (4856), Scallop Circle mini Punch (4871) for the smoke.

The base card is actually Holly Green but it look black in the photo, I also used Raven Bazzill (4224), Sunbeam Bazzill (4227), Parakeet Bazzill (4222). THe wheels and the mud guard have been Magic Mounted to add dimension. The soil was sponged using Walnut Stain, and a Black Permaball Pen (660024) was used to add the detail to the tractor. I also used 2 Silver brads for the wheel nuts.

I'm going to stamp a number (age) from the Carnival Alphabet Stamp Set (4200KO) in the top right hand corner....

Thanks for dropping by

MAGIC STAMP (PoW) - Project 3

Hi everyone,

SSsssssssshhhhhh....don't tell DH but I have been raiding his tool box today in preparation for today's card.

I have impressed some nuts and bolts (borrowed from DH) into the Magic stamp and inked it in Ancient Page Palm Leaf Ink (72089) onto white card, matted onto Raven Bazzill (4224) added some Silver Brads (4602), then matted image onto Oatmeal base Card (9785). Spanner was made with Script SB Paper (4748) from Kaszazz Flourish Range and using the Circle Punches. Stamps used were Min Messages (006KK) and Stitched Borders Set (4117KM). I made the base card to resemble a tradesman's toolbelt.

I have created a workshop using punches with a simular design to this one.. hoping it gets accepted.
I also forgot to add that I used the small Daisy Punch and cut the centre points to create the star shape.

P.S. Nuts and Bolts have been returned to DH's tool box

Cheers

Punches - Day 5 (PoW) - Blog War

Hi and welcome.....

Seen as it is the last day for punches (PoW), I thought I would have a bit of fun.

Several of my family members male and female) are avid 8-ball players and have played in interstate competitions and Leagues etc, so this is where my inspration for todays card came from.

Its a bit hard to design proper 8-balls, so I decided to do the next best thing, which is a snooker table.

This card uses the medium circle punch and the small circle punch, also Bazzill and cardstock

Dont forget to leave your comments to be in the draw..Competition closes this Sunday, winner will be announced on Monday.

Punches - Day 4 (PoW) Blog War

Hi all,

Welcome once again to my Blog and to day 4 (PoW) creation.

Todays card combined 2 of my favourite things (besides the obvious of papercrafting and using punches)..... As you can see by looking at a few of my cards I love inking around the edges of images and cards, and the other is I love the colour purple. I actually used 2 inks around the edge...Wisteria and Lavender.

I pin pricked around the edge of the image on the Purple Bazzill.

Today I have used the medium circle punch and also used the corner rounder with out the guard to do a scalloped edge at the bottom.

**Dont forget to keep leaving your comments to win, Winner will be announced on Monday.... Thank you to all who have left wonderful comments already.

Check out what the wonderful, creative blog war paticipants have been up to..list is on the right hand side menu.

See you tomorrow with the final creation for this weeks PoW.

Happy stamping or maybe I should say "Happy Punching"

Cheers

Punches - Day 3 (PoW) - Blog War

Welcome Papercafters,

Making this card, just seemed to flow easy today..Hope you like it...I do.

Today's creation used the Whale Retro FLower Punch(PSPWP06) and the small Retro Flower PunchPSP92C).

Other materials used were Vintage Photo Distress Ink (TIM19527), SB Paper , Bahama Bazzill (4215), Mini Messages Stamp set(006KK) magic mount.

Quick Craft Tip - using punches -

If you find your punch sticking, try punching through wax paper, the kind you would use for baking.
If you don’t have wax paper you can make your own; take a candle, rub it over a sheet of standard copy paper and punch through this. The wax will allow the plates to glide past each other effortlessly.

For best results sharpen or wax your punches as soon as you notice they have blunted or are sticking.

*****Dont forget to leave a comment to win the my projects... Only comments left on PoW posts on my Blog are eligible to win.

Check out what the other Blog War Participants are creating...List of participants is on the right-hand side menu.

Til tomorrow, happy stamping ..

Punches - Day 2 (PoW)

Hi all,

Sorry this is a bit late, but I had a very long and busy day....

Plus my brain isnt functioning right at the moment, I've been trying to think up some new ideas, as would you believe I have just submitted 2 workshops using punches and I dont want to give away any of those ideas .. just yet.

So yesterday if you recall, I used bright vivid colours in my card....

Well today I have gone for pastel tone and used the 3 sized Circle punches (9940) (small, medium and whale) and I also used the small Retro Flower Punch (PSP92C). The card is 3d with 2 of the circles having magic mount.

Quick Craft Tip - using punches -
As a first step in reviving a blunt punch I would recommend punching through normal kitchen tinfoil, always try this first, and do it several times if necessary.

If this is not sufficient then try punching through very fine sandpaper. It is important it is very fine as larger pieces of grit will scratch the cutting mechanisms rather than sharpen them.

Don't forget to leave your comments to win.... and check out what the other creative Blog War participants have done.

Happy Stamping...

Product of the Week (PoW) Punches - Day 1

Hi all,

Welcome to this weeks Product of the week (PoW) Blog War.

These Punches from EK Success are super quick and very easy to use. They come in 3 sizes (small, medium, and whale) the shapes inclde circle, daisy, retro flower, folk heart, dragonfly(whale only), large square, medium butterfly and corner rounder.

Some of our exclusive stamps and also our SB Cut Outs also fit these punches which is great as you dont have to cut them free hand.

I used Orange card (Primary Pack 9762) as the base, I stamped the smalll flower pattern from the Treasured Memories Stamp set with Perfect Medium (2383). I also stamped the Vine from the same set onto a piece of Parakeet Bazzill (4222) using Perfect Medium. I used a strip of SB Paper _ Dotty Words (4763) from the Gelati Range. The Post Mark Fun Stamp was stamped onto Lemonade (4501)Bazzill ,stamped with Orange (15013) Inkpad.

Final touch I added a bit of bling with a rhinestone(4556) and a piece of Organdy (9317)yellow ribbon.
