ATC's Fathers Day / Male - Blog War Challenge - Project 1

Hi All,

Welcome to today's Blog War Challenge.

This week we are making ATC's ( Artist Trading Cards). We are using a Father's Day / Male theme.

ATC's are miniature works of art created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch card stock, they are originals, most importantly, self-produced - anybody can produce them.

The idea is that you trade them with other people who produce cards, either at TRADING SESSIONS or wherever you meet another ATC trader. They can also be attached to base cards to create a full sized card or scrapbooking project. They are a great item to make to use up scraps of cardstock and paper.

Kaszazz have a gorgeous ATC Stamp set which has a total of 91 different variety of words, backing templates and name plates, it can be found on page 171 of the current Kaszazz Catalogue.

I have used Bahama Bazzill, Parakeet Bazzill, Skate SB Paper from "All Boy" Range (4801), Lines Stamp (1933LH), Happy Fathers Day Stamp (394LD), Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Ink (TIM1490), Ancient Page (72010) Coal Black Ink All products used are available from Kaszazz.

Happy Stampin'

FLUID CHALK INKS - Blog War Challenge - Project 2

Hi all,

Welcome to today's " Blog War " creation.

Well...they say looks can be deceiving... This card definitely fits that description...
This card may look like it was quick and easy...but it wasn't, there was a lot of pre-planning and measuring making sure the punched border and hearts were even...but after all the measurements were worked out it all came together quiet well.

I have used Blue Iris Chalk Ink (71034) also used were, Pomegranite Card from our new Earth Tone Essentials card range (4927), Vine Stamp from Treasured Memories Set (4129KO), Smile Stamp (4130KC), Starmist Bazzill (4226), Flourish Border Punch (4866), Mini Heart Punch (4870), Corner Rounder Punch and I aded some Aqua Organdy Ribbon (70605). All products used are available from Kaszazz.

When I remake this card I will make a couple of changes, as the Smile sentiment doesn't show clearly (shows up even less in the photo) so I will stamp it in a different colour, and I thought about maybe adding some colour to the vine image.

What do you think ???

FLUID CHALK INKS - Blog War Challenge - Project 1

Hi all...

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. The weather here was fabulous (around 30 degrees) we did some gardening and I managed a bit of time to do some papercraft stuff. Today's temp is mid 30's, so I think summer is on its way...yay !!!!!

I made a start on a couple of birthday cards , one is for DH ..So I can't show it yet .. as he checks my blog regularly. I also made a start start on making my project for the Kaszazz Team Training Day coming up on the 13th September, we are asked to create a project including the Antique Gold Embelishment Kit (page 57 current catalogue) more on this later in the weeks following.

This week Kaszazz product we are showcasing is ...." Fluid Chalk Ink ".

Kaszazz offer a huge range of beautiful soft colours which can be found on pages 77 - 79 of the current Kaszazz Catalogue.

These gorgeous inks blend like die inks and dry quick on most surfaces. The ink pads are available in various sizes cats eye, mini pad, regular size ink pad, Option pads and Queue cats eye stack.

The Options Pads are very economical as you receive 8 gorgeous colours in each palette. Each colour plate can be lifted from the palette for direct-to-paper application.

The Colorbox Fluid Chalk Queue are multi coloured (6 varieties) nested Cat's Eye inkpads.

Here is today's creation, using Dark Peony Fluid Chalk Ink (71032).

I have also used White 8 x 8 card (6066)for base, black card (9883) , Happy Birthday stamp (4085KF), Dragonfly and small daisy from the Springtime stamp Set (4112KO), Daisy small (4011KC), and Magenta Rick Rack Ribbon (6464)

Cheers

MALE CARDS - Blog War Challenge - Project 3

Hi all

Here is todays card...It's something a little different.

Yes..... the side of the card is cut on an angle...its not an optical illusion created by the camera...altho its not one of the best photo's.

I have used Bahama Bazzill (4215) for the base card, I have hand drawn the white stitching around the cut out area with a White Gel Pen (1916), Tool Border (1700LH) image was inked in Perfect Medium (2383), added some Black white stitch ribbon (70959), and a Silver Spiral Clip (4602) ... Fathers day (394LD) sentiment was stamped in Ancient Page Coal Black Ink (72010) on the inside if the card onto the white card (9014) insert.

Originally I didnt have the Tool image on the card, and some how a finger print mark got onto the front of the card after I had finished it (don't you hate that...!!!!!) , so I disquised it by stamping the tool border image over it...

Now you wouldn't even know it was there (smiles).... and I think it looks better with the tool image on there, so maybe it was fate...... Its easy to hide little ooopsies , by using a little imagination without the need to throw the card away and start all over again.

Have a .."Scrap-a-rific" weekend.....

MALE CARDS - Blog War Challenge - Project 1

Hi all,

Welcome to my blog...

This weeks Blog War Challenge is making "Male cards"..... perfect timing with Fathers Day less than a couple of weeks away.

I love the way most of this card turned out.. I'm sure any handy-man would love it. I'm going to change it to a Fathers Day card, as I'm not happy with what I've got on it..I already changed it a couple of times, its getting to late in the evening to change it again now...

Altho it doesnt show up all that well in the first photo the woodbeams have a wood grain effect to them, by using a direct to paper technique.

I black embossed the Tool Border image, coloured them with the Lyra Crayons and then cut around them..very (very) carefully, actually the embossing made it easier to colour in and cut, you don't go over the lines. Was a little time consuming cutting around the smaller shapes, but not too bad considering the end result.

I added some silver brads to the wooden beams to look like nails/bolts. The beams are in a woven pattern and I have used Magic Mount on some to give a more 3d look. Bahama Bazzill was used for the base card.

A close up picture showing the woodgrain effect

We have some new girls participating in the Blog Wars this week, so don't forget to check out all the Blog War Paricipants (list on the side menu).

All products used in the project are available from Kaszazz if you would like any, information on this card or any other products , project, getting free products or anything in general ...please contact me here...

" EMBOSSING " - Blog War Challenge - Projects 2 & 3 (plus extra)

Hi All,

Here is my second project for this weeks Challenge.

I have used the "Resist embossing Technique " with this card.

Here is project 3...I couldn't decide (when I was making these) which background colour I prefered...Parakeet Bazzill (card 1) or Bahama (card 2)...

I think I prefer the Parakeet , but this is one of my most favourite colours so my judgement is a bit clouded ... I did try it with a couple of other colour base cards but I liked these 2 the most.

Which of the following do you prefer??

I decided to show you the project that I started on wednesday that was the inspiration for the cards above, the more I looked at it the more I decided it have a charm about it.

I did trim a bit off the edges, as it had to much of a border, I would have preferred to have more blue in it.... I used a mask oval for the centre.

I will create something with this but not sure what yet.

Have a ' scap-a-rific' weekend.....

" EMBOSSING "- Blog War Challenge - Project 1

Hi All,

This weeks Blog War Challenge is "Embossing". Kaszazz have a fantastic range of Embossing Powders (27 Varieties) which can be seen on page 66 of the current Kaszazz Catalogue . A 3d version of the catalogue can be viewed online here

Yesterday I had a fabulous idea, in my head, for a card involving embossing - resist technique, but when it come to putting ink to paper it didnt really work out how I wanted it to, I didnt really like the end result....so it is back to the inking pad... I have worked out ways to improve it so..I hope to finish it later tonight , and put it on my blog with tomorrows project.

Here's my creation for today. Black isnt usually a card I use much when making cards..but it seemed right for todays elegant project.

I have embossed the Silhouette Cafe (4172KL) stamped image in Black Embossing powder, which was stamped onto Quatro Dots SB Paper(4836) from Kaszazz Bella Range. I edged the SB Paper with Snowcap Paint Dabber. This was matted onto Black card , and I added friends sentiment with Magenta Organdy ribbon.

Cheers

Blog Update ..MIA

Sorry I have been missing in action the past couple of days, but I have been in complete agony with my arm and shoulder, I havent been getting much sleep either.

I started taking some pain killers and Anti-inflammatories yesterday, it seems to be feeling a little better this morning, atleast I can move it slightly before any pain..

So I should be able to get another project up later today.

I am feeling a little guilty because I havent participated much this week.

Hopefully the pain should be complely gone over the next couple of days (fingers crossed) and be able to move my shoulder more freely..Tho I wont be going out and swinging bats and balls around .
